Cyperus polystachyosFamily: Cyperaceae
Genus: Cyperus
Common names: Bunchy Sedge
ALA reference

Several plants of this species are growing at the eastern end of the main gully. It grows to about 60 cm with dense heads of flowers. This area has been very moist or filled with running water for more than six months providing ideal growing conditions. However it remains to be seen how well these plants do when we have a severe dry spell. Nevertheless these plants have produced copious quantities of seeds (nuts) which should be available to replace the plants if they die. (May 2012)
