Clearing the lantana from the edge of the picnic ground has revealed the intriguing root system on a strangler fig growing on the edge of the bushland. I suspect that the tree it was growing on partially fell down when the fig was quite young. Part of that original tree can still be seen embedded in the root system. (February 2014)
