This is a ground fern with a long-creeping rhizome. It has very large fronds to 2 metres long covered in sticky glandular hairs. It can grow into large colonies. The photo shows the primary pinnae unrolling in stages from the curled crosiers and this is a distinguishing feature of this genus. (July 2011)
