Panicum pygmaeum

Posted on Updated on

Panicum pygmaeumFamily: Poaceae
Genus: Panicum
Common name: Pygmy Panic, Dwarf Panic
ALA reference

In a few places in the reserve this grass species is intermixed with Ottochloa gracillima and would frequently be overlooked because it closely resembles the Ottochloa. However it can be identified by its hairy leaves. Right now it stands out because it is covered in seed heads while the Ottochloa is yet to flower or is only just coming into flower. (February 2013)
