Species: Pingasa chlora
Common names: Flower-eating Moth
I found caterpillars of this species on both Trema tomentosa and Macaranga tanarius plants. I raised some caterpillars at home so that I could identify the species when the moth emerged. All the caterpillars that were feeding on the Macaranga leaves died. However this was probably due to disease or some other cause rather than an inappropriate diet. Look at how beautifully the moth is camouflaged on the lichen covered trunk of a tree in the photo.
