Pyrrosia confluensFamily: Polypodiaceae
Genus: Pyrrosia
Common names: Robber Fern, Horseshoe Felt Fern
ALA reference

This little fern with long creeping rhizomes is growing in dense shade on one of the old Owenia venosa (Crow’s Apple) trees. It is associated with a fine moss, and a small Platycerium bifurcatum (Elkhorn Fern) is growing nearby. In the dry weather the fern shrivels right up but as soon as we get some rain it rehydrates rapidly and looks fresh and healthy again. (February 2010)
