This is a slender herb with creeping stems that root at the leaf nodes. The leaves and stems are mostly glabrous and the leaf surface relatively shiny. The flower heads typically contain about a dozen or fewer bisexual flowers which are followed by seeds to about 1 mm across. (September 2008)
